At Agape Dental Clinic Mill Woods, we accept all insurance plans – private, employee, as well as government dental coverage programs such as Provincial Health Benefits including, Dental Assistance for Seniors Program (DASP) program, Child Health Benefits, AISH, Seniors Alberta Blue Cross and AHC, as well as Veterans Coverage and NIHB (First Nations Dental Coverage).

Dental Insurance Coverage
Most people who have private insurance, have it as part of their group insurance policies and benefits through their employers. The amount and procedures covered vary and we encourage you to obtain full details of your dental plan coverage so you can take full advantage of the benefits offered and avoid unpleasant surprises.
Unless covered under Alberta Works (LIP) program, people whose employers do not offer group plans for dental benefits may opt to have private dental insurance. Individual plans are offered through many insurance companies, including Alberta Blue Cross and Manulife. In addition, organizations such as the Alberta Motor Association and Chambers of Commerce offer both group and individual coverage.
Insurance Policy
We accept most major insurance plans and will gladly process your claim. Please have your insurance card and driver’s license with you at your first appointment. Insurance policies generally cover only a portion of the total treatment cost. Please remember that your dental insurance policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company, not between your insurance company and our office.
We make no guarantee of any estimated coverage, but we will do our best to ensure that you receive your maximum benefits. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for your total obligation of fees for treatment provided should your insurance benefits result in less coverage than anticipated.
If you would like to know what your expected coverage will be, we can submit a pre-authorization estimate (often referred to as pre-determination or PDs) to your insurance company. Your insurer will usually respond and send a detailed explanation of benefits within 4-6 weeks.
Unless other arrangements have been made, we ask that you pay your portion of the bill at the time of treatment. It is your responsibility to pay any balance not paid by your insurance company.
Direct Billing to Insurance Providers
Our office can direct bill ALL insurance plans. When you first come to our office and provide us with your insurance information, you sign a form which allows us to bill directly to the insurance company and for them, in turn, to make the payment directly to us.
Our computer systems allow us to store your insurance information and submit claims electronically directly to the insurance provider. At the end of your appointment, we send your dental services bill electronically, directly to the insurance provider. The insurance provider confirms the amount they cover and pay us. This means that at the end of the transaction, you have to pay only the portion of the bill that is not covered by your insurance benefits.

Financial Considerations
Agape Dental Clinic Mill Woods bills insurance providers directly. We are an Assignment Office, which means we will accept your dental insurance information, send the claim to your insurance provider and wait for the insurance provider to pay us directly. For the portion of your bill that is not covered by your insurance provider, we request you pay the balance at the time of treatment.
